Women in the advertising industry

To celebrate International Woman’s Day, we have conducted a little investigation into our industry to see how women are contributing to advertising and communication campaigns. Originally, males dominated the ad world but women are fast gaining equality across the board. There may still be a few glass ceilings but things are improving and quickly moving in the right direction.

Although women are yet to fully represent 50% of the advertising industry’s workforce at managing director level or above, there has been rapid growth in the past decade alone. The future looks bright for budding industry females. Delineo are proud to contribute to the rise in employment of women in advertising and of all our employees hired in 2013, 85% are female.

The IPA launched the ‘Women of Tomorrow’ competition last year to identify female industry leaders of the future. Look out for the 2014 winners on Tuesday 11th March 2014.
