Dispelling Myths

Challenge:

East Lancashire Hospice tasked us with increasing awareness of themselves and their services, while also making the people in the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley feel connected to them. They also wanted us to come up with a way of dispelling the myths that many people hold about hospices – namely that they’re a place people go to die.

Approach:

The best way to dispel myths is with the truth. To show what life at East Lancashire Hospice is really like, we created a simple video which showed off a whole host of imagery from around the grounds.

Once the video was complete, we needed to get it in front of the right people – from patients and families to fundraisers. Social media was the obvious choice, giving us the platform to not only share our story, but to engage with other communities online.

The final element of the campaign was a dedicated landing page that provided a focus point for contact and information requests.

Outcome:

In the first three months following the launch, the video received over 6,000 views, more than 190 shares on Facebook and a huge amount of support from the online community.
