On Tuesday, the Delineo digital team will be attending Social Media in a Corporate Context, an all-day conference in the Palace Hotel, organised by Communicate Magazine.
The conference has attracted a number of renowned panelists and speakers include Karl Brookes, head of communications and marketing for NHS Salford, Kathleen Goh, corporate communications for DHL and Tess Longfield, head of international PR for Visit Britain. Our very own Tom Mason, social media strategy manager for Delineo, will also be featuring in the final session of the day.
For those interested in B2B and B2C social media, the conference offers an impressive mix of topics. Panels such as Social Media Reputation Management, Employee Engagement and Crisis Communications entertain some of the biggest questions in the social media industry. The social media newsroom and social media on a mobile platform debates also promises to offer some interesting insight.
Moreover, there is also a strong local presence in the speaker list. Martin Bryant, co-founder of Social Media Café Manchester and Chi-chi Ekweozor, managing director of Real Fresh TV and creator of 7 Wonders in Seven Days, are both appearing on panels during the day. John Greenway, press office manager from Manchester Airport (which has won awards for its social media marketing) is also featuring in one of the sessions.
Furthermore, the conference also has support from some of Manchester’s leading bodies. Manchester Digital, the aforementioned Social Media Café and Delineo have all signed up as partners for the event, as well as a number of household London groups and agencies.
The conference is the latest addition to Manchester’s vibrant social media and digital scene. Indeed, the city is home to an impressive number of societies, while events such as SAScon, Manchester SEO, Social Media Café and the plethora of activities held at MadLab have helped to fashion a thriving digital community which has the power to draw in high-quality conferences like the one taking place on Tuesday.
