Intern Insight: My Final Day

When I started my internship I made a promise to myself that I’d keep an open mind and soak up as much knowledge as I could. Here I am on my last day and I can say I kept that promise and more. Over 12 weeks I’ve written content for various clients, been part of creative meetings, had my opinion heard and valued and defined the path I’d like to walk in the world of digital marketing. I’ve learned about the big picture of a marketing agency and how all departments work together to make sure everything runs smoothly.

It’s been a worthwhile journey from knowing only the blogging side of content to coming up with concepts on a regular basis for a broad mix of clients. I’ve been able to improve my research skills by carrying out daily content reports and independent fact-finding that have been helpful in developing new campaigns. As my knowledge has grown so has my responsibility in the agency and it feels wonderful to have been given that level of trust.

During the internship I had the opportunity to study for a qualification and I chose the Inbound Certification test by Hubspot. The course covered all aspects of Inbound Marketing from social media to delighting customers. I feel proud to have put the work in and attained the certificate. I know this will improve my chances of employability and bring me a step closer to where I want to be.

I wouldn’t have been able to learn without the people I’ve worked with, and the social element is what I’ve enjoyed most about being a part of Delineo. Everyone has been helpful and I’m grateful for knowing them.

For anyone who’s interested in getting into digital marketing I’d highly recommend working at Delineo for an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re passionate about copywriting or web development, you’ll have the opportunity to explore what you love doing.

Looking back on my time at the agency I can say it’s been one of the best jobs I’ve ever had and I’ll miss doing it. Rather than seeing it as the end of something it feels like the beginning of something greater and I’ll always remember it starting here.
